Village church in Samoa to host private service for tsunami victims

The Congregational Christian Church of Saleapaga village in Samoa will tomorrow hold a small memorial service to remember the 31 villagers who died in the tsunami which struck 3 years ago.The church minister, Reverend Uaea Israelu, says many people are forgetting about the disaster but he is organising a church service on Saturday at around the time the tsunami struck on the 29th of September in 2009.He says people have been touched by the assistance received, while the communal life systems in Samoa on which people rely are some of the reasons they have been able to move on.The government has not announced any programme to mark the third anniversary of the tsunami.
