Vikings remain Unbeatable – Samoana looking promising

The American Samoa High School Athletic Association (ASHSAA) advanced into week 4 of football action in the territory this past weekend, with the Fagaitua Vikings remaining undefeated and heading into their biggest game of the season this upcoming Saturday, against the only other undefeated team in the league, the reigning Champs, the Tafuna Warriors.

The Samoana Sharks, on the other hand, are making good changes on their side of the ball, as they’ve adjusted to a righteous path that just might take them back to the final game of the season, if they can keep up the momentum.

On Friday, Samoana’s Junior Varsity experienced their second loss of the season, after being slaughtered by the JV Warriors, who are trying their best to fight their way up to putting their reputation to the test. As of now in the Junior Varsity Division, Leone is clearly on to top of the group, as they remain undefeated, and with Tafuna’s 20 - 0 win against the Sharks, they are looking to play a good rematch against the reigning champs of the division – the Lions.

Saturdays double header match up started off with the Vikings showing the Wildcats how the game is played, after they stretched a 42 - 0 lead into half time. Fagaitua brought in their second string, and it even widened the gap of points, as the Vikings proudly sailed back to the east side with a 54 - 0 win against Nu’uuli.

The second game of the day was one to watch, as the Clash of the Titans between the Samoana Sharks and the Leone Lions had their supporters at the edge of their seats. It was such a hard fought match that the Sharks barely made it through with the win, as the Lions weren’t letting up to full time – a win is a win, and the Sharks did go home with a 12 - 0 win.
