Hawkeye: Words to Ponder Saturday November 14, 2009

“If Electricity comes from Electrons, does morality come from Morons?”

Bob Dylan came out with a hit record back in the 60’s when we still had records. That song was called, “The Times they are A-Changin.” How right he was.

Bob Dylan had one goal in life and that goal was to become a professional bum. It therefore must have been disgusting to him to have everything that he did, turn in to Money! One of his other Hit Songs was, “Knocking on Heaven’s Door,” which must have sold in the Millions. So much for becoming a professional bum! Hawkeye can relate to this as he has in reality, knocked loudly at Heaven’s Door. Even to the point that the door was opened for Hawkeye.

Hawk never had a burning desire to become a professional bum, but he does happen to know that Heaven’s Door Swings both ways. The way in is great: it is the return trip that is the bummer.

So, getting back on the matter at hand, Bob Dylan must lay awake at night thinking of just how right he was when he was on Acid Trips, laced with a little bit of ‘Wacky Backi’ and ‘Jack Daniels.’ He saw things in just a few short hours that it took Hawkeye a lifetime to discover. By the time Hawkeye had discovered the other side, and witnessed it first hand, the damage had been done. Heaven’s Door Swung once again for Hawkeye, and he was propelled from that beautiful light back through the tunnel and back into the dark place that we call earth.

Until Hawkeye met Sweet Leanor, he longed to go back into that tunnel where bliss took the place of pain and suffering. This suffering lingers today as a result of unhealthy habits that Hawkeye spent most of his adult life dabbling in.

Hawkeye’s advice is to not allow the door to swing both ways fans. Let it swing one way, on the way out. Coming the other way is too painful to describe. Keep your life as clean as possible without becoming a fanatic about it. Do your best to warn others of the Ill Fated Consequences of Drinking Alcohol, Smoking and taking Drugs! This is Hawkeye’s advice for today folks, and it is free!

Simply take it for what it is worth, and buy a copy of Bob Dylan to soothe away your woes. Over.

Hawkeye would suppose that by now we have all heard of the disgusting massacre and wounding of our solders on the Military base in the great state of Texas, Ft. Hood.

No matter what his motives, the actions of the idiot that pulled the trigger are totally inexcusable! There will never be room for this Homosapien in society ever again! This guy was trained to heal sick minds folks!

He took the lives of the very people who would look to him for comfort when the chips were down. He was a trained psychiatrist, drawing down $92,000 per year plus benefits, of your tax dollars! This is the thanks that Uncle Sam received for giving this Homo a life!

Hawkeye hopes that our elected leaders do not play ‘BLEEDING HEART’ and turn this maniac loose to do it again! We need some positive news for a change folks. This S%#t has to be brought to a screeching halt!

While the President was out there at Ft. Hood doing his photo op, Former President George W. Bush, and former first Lady Laura were there spending hours on end with the families of the Ft. Hood Shooting victims. They could clearly have been someplace else, and they certainly weren’t there for the publicity as this is something that they do not need. They were there because they cared, and that the Shooting took place in Texas which is their stomping grounds! Humm.

Now back here on the home front, it appears as though we are getting on with the business of living. Hawkeye hears the same good news coming from our neighbors to the West. After such a disaster, this is all that we can do; get on with the business of living.

Hawkeye and Sweet Leanor went to ‘Cost Me Less’ on Wednesday afternoon. Hawkeye is happy to report that they came across Mr. & Mrs. Will Reardon, whom Hawkeye had not seen for a ‘Coons Age.’ It was really nice to talk to you after all these years Will. See ya on Pacebook! Er ah-Facebook!

And further, here’s to Mr. & Mrs. Bob Coulter of the great village of Leone.

Hope you two are feeling better, and hanging in there as we know you are capable of doing. {From Hawkeye and Sweet Leanor} Here’s to all other survivors of the great earthquake and tsunami of September 29, 2009.

May your lives get back to normal as quickly as possible!

Keep all the big black SUVs in the Corral for the ultimate Journey!

With Love from:

Hawkeye & Sweet Leanor.

If pro is the opposite of con, then is the opposite of contest to protest? Language is so much fun. And speaking of language and its comprehension... Hawakeye, people here cannot listen to Bob Dylan because of his voice. The thing about Dylan is that you're supposed to get past the sound of his voice, which has been compared to a lovesick frog, and think about his words. All through his career, and especially in recent years, people have complained that he slurs so much when he sings that you can't understand his words even when you try and listen closely, but people still go see him anyway and still buy his records, so he must be on to something. It's kind of like with the mythical prophets of ancient Greece - their message was worthwhile, but you had to do some work to get that message. The Greek prophets' messages didn't make any sense at first either. To make sense of Dylan, you have to go to his website, which has all his lyrics, and then you realize, "Oh, THAT'S what he was saying in his lovesick frog voice. How profound!" Just like the ancient Greek prophets were often blind, triple-headed, half-goat or otherwise deformed, Dylan's "deformity" is that Kermit voice of his. I think the Bob Dylan lyric most applicable to American Samoa is the following: "Something is happening here, but you don't know what it is, do you Mr. Jones?" I can relate - after 20 years here, I still don't know what's happening sometimes. So Hawkeye, when are you going to sing some songs for us?
