PICO fundraiser a big success Sunday November 1, 2009

The Pacific Island Council of Oregon (PICO) in conjunction with Noho Hawaiian Cafe (not picture) raised over $7,000 in a fundraising dinner that took placed October 14, 2009. Pictured, Ace Salu founder of PICO presents the proceeds to Red Cross representative Darcie Sparcie in Portland Oregon for the Samoa Tsunami Relief Effort.

Salu was a member of the first graduating class of Tafuna High School in 1986. At University he played football at Portland State University and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He and his wife Paula have three boys Nate (14), Timoteo (12) and Malaki (9). They live in Portland Oregon.

Salu is the son of Toluono Salu (Palauli, Savaii) and Ruby Westbrook (Satupaitea, Western Samoa).
