VIDEO: AYFS FOOTBALL WEEK 2 — FALCONS FROM LAULI’I RANKED #1, NO LOSSES

This past Saturday morning at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, the American Youth Football of Samoa (AYFS) hosted their second week of non-stop football action, with another scheduled triple header throughout the day.

The reigning champions from last season, “Chiefs” also played their first game of the season, after a bye week in the season opener. The Chiefs team is no longer under the “Chiefs” name, but has taken up the 49ers name, to open up this year’s football season.

As of the 49ers first game of the season under the direction of Head Coach Loso I’aulualo, they managed to clinch their first victory of the season, after sending home the Raiders in a 2-point game that almost saw the Raiders on top – the first half of the game was scoreless for the Raiders, with the Niners dominating on both sides of the ball, but it wasn’t until the 4th quarter of the game that had the 49ers on the edge of their seats, when Head Coach Pat Maulolo adjusted well to come back and trail by just 2 points to full time, with the results in favor of the Niners 16 - 14.

The second game against the Bears and the Steelers had the Bears written all over it after they scored on their first offensive possession of the game. This momentum turned Pago Pago’s team to dominate on both sides of the ball, reeking havoc on the Steelers who were coming into this game with a 1 - 0 record, but recorded their first loss after the Bears cleaned them out 30 - 0 in full time regulation.

As of now, the AYFS Falcons from Lauli’i are ranked at the top of the division with a 2 - 0 record after they blew out the Chargers this past Saturday. Looking to be the toughest team to bring down this year, the Falcons not once allowed the Chargers in the end zone throughout the whole game, but consistently scored touchdowns and numerous first down situations, to record their second blow out victory of the season with a 32 - 0 win.
