Two new U.S. Citizens sworn in

Two Toa o Samoa received their US citizenships yesterday Sept. 19, 2013,  in Fort Carson, Colorado — PFC William Steffany   of Leone and PFC Taulafoga Vaina of Amouli.

 

Steffany’s wife, Fa'aiuaso Thompson and their three children reside in her home village of Aunu'u and are hoping to join him in Colorado in December.

 

He is a member of the Steffany and Godinet families in Sogi.

 

“I just want to say hi to my wife and my 3 beautiful kids also to my family,the Steffanys  all over the world, and to my mom Aunty Janet, the woman who raised me Aunty Ilaisa Godinet and the Godinet family and to all my family in Sogi, American Samoa.

 

PFC Steffany is with 1st Battalion 68th Armor 3rd Brigade 4th Infantry Division.

 

Vaina is the son of Toetofi Tavale and Veronika Tavale with family in Amouli and Leone.

 

“Hi to my mom and dad and to all the family in Leone and Amouli and my God Parents Ierenimo Vania and Liu Vaina.”

 

PFC Vaina is with the 1st Battalion 8th Infantry 3rd Brigade.

 

They are both cavalry scouts, and told Samoa News: “Thank you American Samoa for your prayers and never ending thoughts for all the Toa o Samoa serving in the States and overseas.”
