Tri Marine awards contract for new American Samoa cool storage

The tuna canning company, Tri Marine International, has given the contract for a new cool storage in American Samoa to New Zealand firm, Pacific Engineering Projects Ltd.

The new facility will cover nearly four thousand square metres, with the capacity to store over 5,000 tonnes of tuna.

It will be built on the site of the old Samoa Packing cold storage facilities.

Tri Marine says the new building will be highly energy efficient, based on its design, construction and location.

Building work, which is due to take 11 months, will start next month.
