StarKist Samoa officially announced the names of the four local students who have been awarded scholarships from the cannery, totaling $20,000.

The ceremony took place at the StarKist Atu’u plant yesterday.

The 2015 StarKist Samoa scholarship recipients are Liana Gurr, Ikaika Pasia Mahuka, Koroseta Butler, and Sam Lei Sam Jr.

Gurr and Mahuka were accompanied by their parents, while Lei Sam’s father accepted the award on behalf of his son who is currently in Samoa.

Butler was not able to attend the ceremony, as she and her family have permanently relocated to San Diego, CA.
