Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Mentioned in the 2018 MaxPreps High School Freshman All-American Football Team on maxpreps.com was Leone High School’s freshman quarterback/defensive back, Oakie Salave’a.

Max Prep posted “Oakie Salave’a, Leone (Pago Pago, American Samoa) whose uncle Joseph spent more than a decade in the NFL as a defensive tackle, has the size (6’3, 180) and pedigree to be a big-time player from American Samoa. He already has an offer from Hawaii.”

Salave’a was the youngest player selected to the American Samoa High School All-Star team that represented the territory in the JPS Paradise Football Classic in Hawai’i last month. He played in the championship match up against Hawaii West in the final half of the match.
