The Sanctuary Science in the Village (SSSV) program, hosted by the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa, kicked off in Manu'a earlier this month. Kids from the Motusa had the chance to explore the outdoors and take part in a fishing derby at Ta'u wharf. The goal of the program is to "motivate, encourage, and challenge the youth to be great stewards of the ocean by taking care of their back yard: their sanctuary.” [photo: NMSAS]
