Samoa's ex-fire boss found guilty of indecent assault

The first Commissioner of Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) was today found guilty of indecent assault.Seve Tony Hill, of Vaisigano, Apia, touched and squeezed the right breast of complainant Sefulu Siaosi in 2007.A complaint against Seve was lodged in May of this year.District Court Judge, Mata Tuatagaloa, said evidence by the complainant was “poles apart” from that of the defendant.It came down to who the court believed.The court believed Siaosi who Justice Tuatagaloa said was a reliable witness.Her Honour dismissed a charge of assault against the defendant saying it was part of the charge which she had found him guilty of.Sentencing was set for Friday 22 November.The Judge ordered a pre-sentencing report.
