Samoa police still in the dark over death of villager in drugs raid

Samoa’s assistant Police Commissioner Leaupepe Fatu Pula is unsure whether the post mortem results that would help determine if a villager was killed by a bullet fired by police are ready.A man was shot dead and three police officers were wounded after an attemped drug raid on a family in the village of Faleatiu in early May.Leaupepe says he hasn’t received any news of the post mortem results from the investigation team.He says the police haven’t been back to Faleatiu village since the shooting took place more than two weeks ago but insists it’s not because the police are afraid to return, but that they are taking a balanced approach to the investigation.
