Salelologa, SAVAII — As Savaii prepares for the 2018 McDonald’s Miss Samoa Pageant at the Don Bosco Hall at Salelologa, Saturday morning, the Big Islands’ resident have been assured that the Teuila Festival will be theirs to enjoy in 2020.

The government commitment was announced by Finance Minister, Sili Epa Tuioti at the opening of the Mini-Teuila Week at the Don Bosco Technical College in Salelologa Thursday this week.

Sili, who is also Member of Parliament for the Electoral Constituency of Faasaleleaga #1 which also includes Salelologa had nothing but words of appreciation to Savaii for rolling out the red carpet to welcome the nine contestants vying for the McDonald’s Miss Samoa Pageant crown this year.

Savaii came alive this week.  The entire island is being decorated and spic and span clean as a sign of appreciation and acknowledgment by residents for bringing the Miss Samoa to Savaii.  And the credit goes to the brainchild’s move Miss Samoa contest to Savaii, Pageant Host, the Samoa Events Incorporated, (SEI).

It is the first time that the pageant to find the next Miss Samoa is being held in Savaii and this will be SEI’s last hurrah as Pageant Host at the end of their three year contract.
