FBI in Samoa to fight cybercrime

Ryan Pardee

Apia, SAMOA — Three officials from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are in Samoa this week to train information technology workers in the police and other government ministries to fight cybercrime.

Twenty six professionals are being trained in the basics of how to investigate cybercrime and how to carry out online investigations.

The Samoa government said the training reflected close collaboration between the US and Samoa on matters of national security, transparent markets and the rule of law.
