Puna, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) — A Big Island man accused of everything from drug offenses to strangling a woman has been arrested, but police are asking for the public’s help to keep him off the streets.

Septie “Joe” Tuaefe, 28, was arrested Monday car theft, fraudulent use of a license plate, several drug charges, harassment and three counts of abuse of a household member.

Police, however, say they believe the Kalapana man may be linked to other crimes.

“We desperately need the public’s help in this case,” Hawaii County Police Capt. Kenneth Quiocho said.

“We are asking anyone with information or anyone who has been victimized by this person to come forward and help us put this guy away. He is a dangerous person that we want to keep out of our community but need your help to do that.”

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Officer Kaeo Drummondo at 961-8849.
