Noel David Folasa Chun of Leone was promoted from Captain to Major last Friday, February 3, 2012 in a ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona. Major Chun, son of Dr. Trudie Iuli Sala and Mr. Jeff Chun, has been with the National Guard Unit / 850th Military Police Battalion for 12 years, where he currently serves as a trainer and plans officer. He has had two tours of Iraq and will be deployed this June to support Operation Enduring Freedom.Major Chun graduated from Western New Mexico University in 1993 and Marist Brothers High School in Malaeloa in 1989. He lives in Chandler, AZ with his wife Dinorah and daughter D'Asia.Major Chun expressed his gratitude for his promotion and many the blessings that he has received.“I would like to thank God for His love and goodness, and I wish to thank all the Toa Samoa for their service and sacrifice, and special thanks to my Galea’i, Fai’ivae, Taeleifi, Iuli, Godinet and Chun family, as well as my Marist Old Boys family, for all their loving support and prayers.” said Major Chun. “This is a great honor.
