Pago A retains cup against Pago B

It was big brother vs. little brother with Pago A easily beating up on their little brother Pago B 7-0 in the Division 1 FFAS National Cup challenge match on Sept. 22, 2012 at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.

In other games it was Black Roses 2, Vaitogi United 1; Lion Heart A 3, Tafuna Jets 1 and Utulei Youth 16, Kiwi Soccers 0.

Pago Youth A maintains its FFAS National League championship lead by four points over Utulei Youth and Black Roses with one more match remaining in the first round robin.

Utulei Youth has the differential in goals tiebreaker in hand for second place over Black Roses with 16 to the latter’s five.

PAGO YOUTH A 7, PAGO YOUTH B 0

Rambo Tapui scored a brace for Pago A in one of their easiest defenses of the Division 1 FFAS National Cup.

Contributing with a goal apiece were Ryan Samuelu, Daru Taumua, AJ Tualaulelei, Alatina Vaialii and Iotamo Lameta.

BLACK ROSES 2, VAITOGI UNITED 1

Iele Siaulaiga scored in the first half to put Black Roses up 1-0 in the first half and Fau Fea added another goal to give them a bit of a cushion in the second half.

Vaitogi United found themselves defending more in the first half while things turned slightly better in the second half for them, but not by much.

Mikey Unasa scored for Vaitogi United but an equalizing goal was not to be found on that day.

LION HEART A 3, TAFUNA JETS 1

A week after an inspiring 1-1 draw against cup holders Pago Youth A, the Tafuna Jets produced a lackluster performance in losing to Lion Heart A 3-1.

Ufi Feagaimaali’i scored a brace for the Jets while an own goal by Tafuna gave their opponents that third score.

William Chan Kau scored for Tafuna.

UTULEI YOUTH 16, KIWI SOCCERS 0

Playing against only seven players, Utulei Youth had a field day in the scoring department as they racked up 16, good enough to give them an 11-goal lead over Black Roses for second place in the standings.

Utulei scored 12 in the first half alone.

Kaleopa Siligi finished with a game-high nine goals while Elama Fa’atonu completed a hat trick (three goals). Pesamino Victor scored two. Siligi had six in the first half and three in the second.
