Girls Volleyball scrimmage is warm up for season's start

In an attempt to find out where the high school girls volleyball players currently stand, there will be a special, friendly scrimmage for the American Samoa High School Athletic Association  (ASHSAA) Girls Volleyball teams, slated for Saturday, September 5 at Tafuna High School, with a scheduled starting time of 8:00 a.m.

 

According to ASHSAA, the teams that are currently confirmed to take part in the scrimmage are the Samoana Sharks, Tafuna Warriors and the Leone Lions.

 

 With the girls regular season scheduled to have its opening day of games on Monday September 14, it will be the Faga’itua Vikings who will be coming into the season as the Varsity and Junior Varsity defending champions. On opening day — Monday September 14 — the Vikings will be opening the season by taking on the Nu’uuli VocTech Wildcats at home in Faga’tua, while on the same day, the Kanana Fou Stallions will be hosting the Tafuna Warriors, with both of these games in the Varsity division.

 

On Tuesday September 15, also in the Varsity division, the Fa’asao Marist Cougars will be playing the Samoana Sharks at the Malaeloa gymnasium. Continuing with more ASHSAA girls volleyball action, on Wednesday September 16, the Wildcats will face the Stallions, with the venue to be determined. To finish out the first week of ASHSAA girls volleyball play, on Thursday September 17, the Warriors will be hosting the Cougars in Varsity action, as the Sharks will be facing the Leone Lions in both Varsity and Junior Varsity action with the venue to be determined.

 

Each of these games have a scheduled starting time of 4:30 p.m. and games are subject to change without notice.
