Taxi driver victim of alleged stabbing incident in Leone

The Department of Public Safety is currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred in the wee hours Friday night in Leone, involving a taxi driver who suffered two stab wounds to his face and neck area. 

 

This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Public Safety, Save Liuato Tuitele who stated that they are investigating the matter and the suspect is still at large. He confirmed the victim’s injuries were not critical.

 

According to Save, the suspect was picked up from a store in Ili’ili and it’s alleged the stabbing incident occurred when he was dropped off, and the suspect supposedly did not have any fare.

 

The taxi driver managed to escape and he drove directly to the Tafuna West Substation where he filed an official complaint against the passenger.

 

Asked if the police recovered the knife or object used in the stabbing, the Commissioner responded that it’s unclear at the moment and expressed the seriousness of this matter. He said he is having the police work around the clock on this case.
