In spite of the propensity of the local government for constant meddling and devious financial forays, the Retirement Pension Fund remains the best thing that ASG retirees and employees have going for them at present.

And as a recipient and longtime observer, one obviously becomes concerned with the misleading advertised attempts by some local financial “gurus” to now lull the Fund into buying “junk” bonds.

Remember, they call these “junk” bonds for a reason. With all due respect, it is imperative the Fund Board of Directors completely comprehend what is involved for all our sakes.

For what it’s worth, investing in junk bonds has as much appeal as playing Russian roulette –  only the very foolish would partake in it.
