“We can have all the latest technology for our fautasi — that is worth $500,000 — but if we lack the crew, then the boat is useless because it cannot move without the crew,” says Taema II Captain, Fai’ivae Iuli Alex Godinet.

Leone’s boat, the Lady Taema II will be rowing for the first time in the fautasi race during Flag Day celebrations next month, and it’s something the whole island is looking to —  it’s performance ‘first time out of the gate’.
