Help needed for Malaeloa’s road repairs

After numerous requests were made by villagers to various government agencies for help with their deteriorating roads, with some areas so bad they were impassable, the Malaeloa Tanoa Ava Club — a group of village men apart from the village aumaga, took it upon themselves to fill in the potholes that riddled the Malaeloa Village road this past Saturday.

For a few hours before rainfall Saturday night and early Sunday morning the roads were bearable and drivable.

Sadly, with the heavy rainfall Sunday night, the ridiculously large potholes re-appeared Monday morning causing the early morning travelers to again moan and groan while maneuvering their vehicles through the endless maze of potholes, which start from one end of the village to the other — no matter if you enter from the Leone-side entrance next to Pritchard’s Bakery, or from the road in front of the Puapua Pentecostal Church.
