The Director of the American Samoa High School Athletic Association, Tumua Matu'u, has issued the schedule for the 2014 ASHSAA Football East vs West All Star Game, that is due to kick off later today at 4:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Stadium. 

According to Matu'u, the 4:00p.m. start time depends on the transportation (school buses) which will determine the actual kick off time.

As to the two All Star teams, the home team for tonight’s game will be the Western All Star Team, which consists of players from Leone High School and Tafuna High School. The West All Star squad will be led by Head Coach Oakland Salave'a of Tafuna High School.

The visiting side will feature the Eastern All Star team, which consists of players from Nu'uuli Voc-Tech High School, Samoana High School, and Fagaitua High School. The East All Stars will be under the supervision of Head Coach Sua'ese Pooch Ta'ase.

According to the schedule, the opening ceremony will lead off with the presentation of colors by the Tafuna High School JROTC color guards under 1st Sergeant Siaosi Asalele, followed by singing of the anthems by the Tafuna High School swing choir.

The invocation will be given by Bishop Fiamatai Faitau of the LDS Pago Mapusaga Stake followed by the introduction of teams and players, along with their coaching units. The Eastern All Stars are scheduled to wear Red Jerseys, and the West All Stars will be sporting Blue jerseys.

The Head Official or ‘white hat’ for today’s game will be Mike White, along with six other officials who will assist him, as they will be running a seven- man coverage of today’s game.

Each team will have 15 minutes to warm up before the opening kick off, and as noted on the schedule, there will be an awards ceremony held immediately after the game.
