Biz Beat: Great new place for breakfast — and more

If you’re looking for somewhere clean and private to enjoy a hearty breakfast or a mouth-watering lunch, then head over to Triple “C” Sushi and Noodle Shop in Tafuna “where the food is always delish.”

Located inside the Triple “S” Gas/Service Station compound, the newest eatery in the territory is offering superb American, Mexican, and Japanese cuisine—all guaranteed to satisfy the biggest of appetites and leave you wanting more.

Owned and operated by Tafa and Rhonda Satele, Triple “C” will no doubt be the go-to place for local foodies who want a great meal in a friendly atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living.

What started off as a small fast food restaurant three years ago has now grown to become a full scale restaurant that can seat 40-50 people comfortably.

Whether you want to dine in, take out, or cater your next big event, Triple “C” is the way to go.

As you enter the newly remodeled and expanded facility - open for two weeks now - you will be greeted by a warm setting and friendly staff.

Executive chef and company co-owner Tafa Satele is no stranger to the local food industry. In prior years, Satele has worked in different kitchens across the territory, including the Sadie Thompson Inn in Fagatogo, the former Jeffrey’s Restaurant in Ottoville, the Equator Restaurant at the Tradewinds Hotel, and most recently, Toa Bar and Grill in Nuuuli.

Taking his experience and love for food to a higher level, Satele, with his wife Rhonda by his side, decided that it was time to venture off on their own and start their own restaurant business, offering food items that are both delicious and affordable.

For breakfast, Triple “C” offers local favorites like pancakes, French toast, loco moco, grilled fish with gravy and of course, the one-inch-cut rib-eye steak and eggs.

For lunch, signature dishes include the grilled wahoo steak, juicy roasted pork, and sliced rib-eye.

Health fanatics will find it easy to order from the Triple “C” smoothie menu, comprised of delicious drinks made from fresh fruits including mango and blueberry.

An assortment of milkshake flavors is also available in banana, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. But the variety doesn’t stop there.

Other offerings include Mexican menu items like burritos and the Mexicano salad bowl that comes in chicken or steak, with Spanish rice, refried beans, assorted cheese, tortilla chips and veggies.

For sushi lovers, try the California roll, the crunchy tuna roll, or the crunchy shrimp roll.

If you like soup, we highly recommend the cream of chicken which pairs well with warm and soft garlic bread, served in perfect portions.

If you’re planning an event, don’t worry. Triple “C” offers catering services for up to 800 plates. Their most recent job included two days of breakfast and lunch for the attendees of last month’s Health Summit that was held at the Governor H. Rex Lee Auditorium in Utulei.

That job included buffet items and individual plates that were all prepared by Triple “C” and the feedback has been nothing less than positive.

Satele told Samoa News yesterday that they have catered events for the American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA) and Bluesky Communications, but their services aren’t limited to corporations and agencies.

Catering services are also available for family functions, including funerals and weddings. Menu items include dishes with American, Italian, Mexican, and Japanese flavors.

When asked if there are any plans to expand their services to include dinner, Satele said their focus at this time is strictly on breakfast, lunch and catering; but added that those who want to utilize the restaurant for after-hour events can put in a request.

Those looking for a venue to host their Christmas parties are invited to call Satele directly or stop by Triple “C” to make arrangements.

Business hours are 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

So what are you waiting for? Find out why Triple “C” is THE place to be and experience a whole new meaning to affordable dining.
