Movie Review “Big Hero Six”

Big Hero Six is a new and original Disney movie that is also based on a Japanese comic series with the same title. Though the plots and characters mentioned stray entirely from the comic it is still somewhat related. Big Hero Six is entertaining as well as emotional. If you do not count the way the characters are introduced, the movie is well thought up.

The plot seethes through tragedy, and centers around personal loss, which is what drives both the protagonist and antagonist. It has a creative group of super heroes, which were made as realistic as possible. You could tell that Disney tried their best to make them scientifically probable with as little amount of a fictional twist added.

I also enjoyed the way they took the limited amount of speech Baymax (the robot) had, and turned it into some sort of emotional speech that tugged at the heart strings every time. I need to keep what I say limited in case I spoil anything, so I won’t mention much about the characters’ personal loss; though I will say that the beginning of the movie seems very predictable up to a point; but I managed to fall for a twist or two and that made the movie so much more enjoyable.

Besides that I’d just like to mention that the movie does target a certain audience.

Disney always has gone for the kids and if the parents don’t mind falling into the super-heroes versus bad guy plot then you’ll love the movie. I’d also like to point out the very colorful animations that go into it. It’s very bright and vibrant, and honestly not too shabby.

There is a bit at the end, for those who do stay till the end. You’ll get a laugh out of it, so it’s worth the wait after the credits.

Overall the movie was a very satisfying first watch and quite interesting when you get to see it through to the end. It’s a wonderful family movie that is sure to bring smiles to audiences everywhere.
