Moso’oi Co-Ed Softball underway

The American Samoa Softball Association (ASSA), in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting the 2014 Moso’oi Co-Ed Softball Tournament. Seen here are players from Team Customs this past Saturday, as they're getting ready to play at the Solaita Baseball Field where the games are taking place Monday through Saturday.

This year’s tournament has seven teams in pursuit of the winner's trophy.

Teams include Customs, OPP, Department of Public Works, Rebels, Back on Track, Purse Seiner Samoa and Kip McGraw. Games are played during the week starting at 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Solaita Field. The tournament is a double elimination schedule and will run until October 25. The ASSA invites the public out to all the games, which promise some great baseball action.

The ASSA has also announced that they will be training for the Men’s and Women’s National Softball team right after the Moso’oi tournament and they invite anyone who wishes to try out for the team to come on down. For more information you can contact 733-1317, 731-2708, or 733-7907.
