Utulei Youth extends lead in women’s National League

Utulei Youth has extended its lead over PanSa in the standings to two games in the women’s division after the latter lost by forfeit on Match Day 6 of the 2014 FFAS National League on Saturday, September 13.

After beating Green Bay 8-0 last Saturday and coupled with PanSa’s forfeited loss to Ilaoa & To’omata for not fielding the required nine players to start the match, Utulei Youth is six points ahead of No. 2 PanSa (15-9).

Third is Ilaoa & To’omata with Lion Heart and Green Bay No. 4 and No. 5 in the division.

UTULEI YOUTH 8, GREEN BAY 0

Utulei Youth have retained the women’s FFAS National Cup for the fifth straight match after a dominating win over Green Bay.

During their first round meeting Utulei won 3-0 but this time around it was a slaughter, thanks to a four-goal performance by Salevu Filiva’a.

Sancia Sopoaga added a brace of goals.

With the six-point lead over PanSa in the standings, Utulei Youth is now in the driver’s seat, as the team with the best record will be crowned champions of the division.

There are no games scheduled for this Saturday and it will resume on September 20.
