Basketball Assn donates to Pacific Horizons School

The American Samoa Basketball Association (ASBA) continues to give back to the community, and its latest outreach involves a recent donation to the students of Pacific Horizons School (PHS) in Ottoville.

According to the ASBA, their president Milton Taufa’asau (far right back row), noticed the school’s Physical Education class one afternoon while practicing basketball in Fatu-o-Aiga and that is when he decided to get the ball rolling on the donation by giving his contact information to the PE teacher.

The school’s principal Caroline Tuiolosega was soon in contact with the ASBA to speak about the generous donation of basketballs, which occurred on Sept. 10.

The ASBA stated that they were more than happy to make the donation to the school, to the delight of the students who were on hand.

The group also said that they are volunteers, who have a passion for the game of basketball and are happy to pass that passion on to the young students of PHS.

The ASBA also held clinics throughout this past summer teaching the basic fundamentals of the game while working on the overall improvement of the more experienced players.
