New ASG survey board appointed

Lt. Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga, who is also the acting governor, has appointed five new members of the ASG Survey Board, whose responsibility involves the surveying of government property to come up with their value. The board, which is required under the American Samoa Administrative Code, also conducts surveys of ASG property before being sold at auction.

Board members are: Territorial Energy Office deputy director Taliga Vaiolo; Fa’auuga Mailo, a certified mechanic from the private sector; Territorial Correctional Facility Warden Vaipuna Fo’ifua Fo’ifua; Jesse Yandall, a certified mechanic with the Department of Public Works; and Assistant Attorney General Seiuli Alvin Tuala.

In his memo, Lemanu says each appointed member shall serve an indefinite term until such time his or her successor is duly qualified and appointed by the governor. Lemanu asked all ASG agencies to provide support and where appropriate, assist the Survey Board in carrying out its investigations, duties and responsibilities in the management of property owned by the government.
