AG confirmed unanimously by House and Senate
American Samoa has a new attorney general after the Legislature gave it’s full endorsement.
Talauega Eleasalo Ale was unanimous confirmed last Friday by the House of Representatives and today (Monday), the Senate also gave a unanimous endorsement in a 14-0 vote.
Talauega, 45, joined the attorney general’s office in August 2012, overseeing the Civil Division. He attended law school at Drake University, where he received his law degree in 1994. He also holds a BA in political science from Truman State University prior to attending law school.
Meanwhile, the Territorial Energy Office has a new director, Ali’itama Sotoa, who is also confirmed by the Fono. The House last Friday, gave a unanimous vote of 19-0, while the Senate today voted 13-1.
