PHOTOS & VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: USA SEVENS 2014, FUN IN LAS VEGAS — DAY 1

Mixed results were achieved by the competing teams from the Americas on day one of the USA Sevens in Las Vegas on Friday. Argentina performed well in defeating the USA 19-12 and Spain 33-5 while Canada opened with a narrow 17-15 win over Kenya but was well beaten 29-0 by an impressive South Africa. Both Uruguay and the USA were unable to win but the North Americans came close against France in the final match of the day. The tournament will continue later on today and conclude on Sunday.Day two will start at midday local time with a Pool A match between Canada and Wales. With Wales having lost against both Kenya and South Africa it is an opportunity for Canada to secure the runner-up spot in the pool. Uruguay will face England in Pool C at 12:44pm with Argentina v France taking place immediately thereafter. The USA´s remainins pool fixture will be against Spain at 2:34pm and will bring a close to pool play. The eight remaining matches for the day will be the Bowl and Cup Quarter Finals with the pool winners and runners-up competing for the right to play in the Cup Semi Finals on Sunday.
