Matu’u accident sends two to LBJ for observation

A two-car accident in Matu'u blocked traffic for a while early yesterday evening. A bus driver, who was a witness, told Samoa News that he followed behind a black Toyota (pictured) that was heading westbound when a blue Nissan driven by a woman rammed the Toyota.

According to bystanders at the scene, the Toyota blocked the Nissan from crashing into people sitting in front of the Aveina Store.

Two ambulances responded to the scene and took the Nissan driver and her daughter to the hospital for observation.

Police said the driver of the Nissan fell asleep at the wheel. Witnesses say that the girl who was a passenger in the Nissan sustained a bloody nose while the driver and passenger of the Toyota appeared physically okay when speaking with police about the accident.
