Local church shares its bounty with Red Cross

The American Red Cross American Samoa (ARCAS) received a donation of $1,000 from the Victory Chapel Christian Church of Pavai’ai on Wednesday morning at the ARCAS compound in Tafuna.

The funds were raised last Saturday during the church’s golf fundraiser for their church building, facilities expansion and remodeling, with a portion going to the ARCAS.

ARCAS Chairman Vaito’a Hans Langkilde and ARCAS members and board members were on hand to receive the donation from Reverend Elder Si’ulagi Solomona Jr.

“We are here today to present our donation to one of the most important institutions in our government and island nation providing support and help for our people in time of need,” said Elder Reverend Solomona.

Speaking on behalf of the ARCAS, Chairman Lankilde said, “We thank you so much for this very kind donation on behalf of the American Samoa Red Cross.” He stated that the donation will come in handy and will definitely be put to good use.

“Aside from hurricanes and different natural disasters, we also have man made disasters and at times we do answer these calls and the people who are victims are very grateful for these donations. We pray for good health to Victory Chapel and your church community,” Langkilde said.
