Update: Eni's office issues statement on his recovery

Congressman Faleomavaega Eni is recovering well at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, according to a statement from his office.
Faleomavaega was medivaced to Honolulu last week Thursday on board a military flight coordinated by the Hawai’i National Guard for further medical treatment after being admitted early in the week to LBJ Medical Center in the territory.
After discussions by physicians it was determined that LBJ, the only hospital in the territory, did not have the necessary equipment to provide further evaluation of the Congressman.
The Congressman’s chief of staff for the Pago Pago office, Faiivae Alex Godinet said in a statement today (Monday) that Faleomavaega is  recovering at Tripler and his family is by his side. He reiterated that Faleomavaega is not in a life-threatening situation and he is stable.
Faiivae says that when Faleomavaega is ready for visitors, an official statement will be issued.
He says Faleomavaega’s office and family express heartfelt thanks for the heroic actions of everyone involved in Faleomavaega’s evacuation and recovery.
