After 25 year hiatus Samoa will field Miss World contestant

After a 25 year hiatus; Samoa will re-enter the Miss World.

Earlier this year on June 8th, Penina Paeu was crowned as Miss World Samoa in Apia.

Next month she will travel to represent Samoa in Jarkata, Indonesia at the 2013 Miss World competition of over 120 countries. Over two billion people are expected to follow this international phenomenon.

In preparation for the Miss World, Penina is in Samoa meeting with Prime Minister; Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and engaging with the people of Samoa. She is very passionate about her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ charity work with the Samoa Victims Support Group and Moto’otua Hospital - Children’s Ward. Miss World Samoa has a strong focus on community engagement and philanthropic work. In addition, Penina will address the nation at an exclusive press conference with media.
