Samoan Cultural Celebration of Utah commences on Pioneer Day

The Samoan Cultural Celebration of Utah is the largest Pacific Islander cultural event in the Intermountain region and with consistent annual attendance of approximately 10,000, the Celebration has been the largest gathering of Polynesians in the state of Utah since its inception in 1998.This year’s event is slated to be the largest yet, prompting organizers to relocate from its previous venue in West Valley City to South Jordan.The Celebration opens on Wednesday, July 24 with a lineup of performers including the Polynesian Cultural Center promotion troupe from Hawai‘i, the dynamic Dee-licious Dance Crew from New Zealand, and Utah-based cultural arts groups.Wednesday night will also feature the premiere of \Fagogo: Stories of Samoa
