Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Statement on the Passing of Larry Helm

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today released the following statement on the passing of Larry Helm, a Vietnam veteran and tireless advocate for veterans on Moloka'i:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of Uncle Larry Helm's passing.  He spent his entire life fighting battles in service to our country, our communities, and our selfless veterans, and he fought courageously in his final battle with cancer.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this terribly difficult time. Uncle Larry's absence will be felt among the entire Moloka'i community, and across the state.

"As I promised him when I last saw him a few weeks ago on Moloka'i, I will continue to work toward fulfilling his dream of opening a veterans center on the island, which will provide much-needed services to veterans and their families."

Earlier this week, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard honored Larry Helm in a speech to the House of Representatives.
