Fiji’s Air Pacific reviewing carriage of shark fins

Fiji’s national carrier, Air Pacific, says it’s reviewing its freight policies relating to the carriage of shark products.Last month, environmental groups in Hong Kong alleged that Air Pacific had been exposed as one of the world’s major carriers of shark fins into Hong Kong. The airline was accused of feeding the unethical trade in shark fins and groups called on the airline to stop.Initially, Air Pacific said it would look into the claims - now it say it’s reviewing its policy on carrying shark products and can’t indicate when a decision might be made.Environmental groups were successful last year in stopping Cathay Pacific from transporting shark fins.
