Samoa Rugby Union disputes rumors circulating on social media

The Samoa Rugby Union wish to correct misleading reports circulated on the social media network, with regards to the Manu Samoa South African Tour in June.
There has never been any indication that the Springboks have pulled out of the Four Nations Tournament, nor replaced by the Currie Cup Lions. Manu Samoa’s match against the Currie Cup Lions is a pre match build up to the four nation competition fully supported and sponsored by the South African Rugby Union.
The Four Nations Competition runs in a round robin format, with two (2) games per team, and the final playoffs. There is a possibility that Samoa will play South Africa BUT depending on the ranking after the first two games.
This is the first time that Samoa has been able to play three (3) Tier One test matches in the June Test Window.
This is a great opportunity for Samoa as we are playing Scotland and potentially SA who are also drawn in Samoa's RWC pool, providing us with a good litmus test to gauge our teams performances in preparation to the 2015 RWC.
The Lions game on the 1 June will provide an opportunity for the team to have its first run as a unit after a one (1) week preparation, and for the Coaching staff to identity a test team for its first game with Scotland.
Samoa Rugby Union expresses sincere appreciation to the SARU for hosting the tournament and IRB for their ongoing assistance with our National Teams and for making this opportunity to become a reality for Samoa.
