SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS DISPLAY OPENS 11TH PACIFIC ARTS FEST IN SOLOMON IS

THE spectacular fireworks that lit up Lawson Tama stadium yesterday has been described as one that will go down as the biggest ever in the Solomon Islands.

Some commented it should also be remembered as one of the best compared to past Pacific Arts Festival events.

A record crowd which packed the stadium as early as 11am yesterday morning could not believe their eyes as the skies lit up with an extravagant display of fireworks to officially mark the opening of the 11th Festival of Pacific Arts.

Even foreign nationals could not hide their excitement.

An American Samoan reporter told this paper that it was just huge and amazing.

“This is just amazing and massive and I think this is one of the best firework displays in any pacific event,” the reporter said.

Pago Pago hosted the last arts festival in 2008.

Other foreign nationals also commented that they did not expect such dazzling display.

“I’m lost for words. The firework is one of the best I’ve ever seen,” an Australian said.
