Stepson arrested in Las Vegas for murder of Hawaii man

LAS VEGAS -KITV4 News has learned that a 19-year-old man was arrested in Las Vegas for the murder of a Hawaii man, who was the suspect's stepfather.RelatedThe suspect is identified as Tyten Kaehu-Scanlan. He was arrested for murder with a deadly weapon and a current bench warrant for battery with substantial bodily harm.The victim was identified as 44-year-old Blackie Pele-Poti. According to his Facebook page, he was a 1986 graduate of Waipahu High School. He also attended El Camino College in Torrance, California.A 911 call was placed Wednesday morning from a woman who said her nephew had a firearm, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.Call takers heard screaming and shots fired in the background.
