Unpaid fees keep Samoa National University students from sitting exams

In Samoa the leader of the opposition Tautua Samoa Party is calling on the government for immediate action to allow nearly 500 students at the National University, who have not paid their fees, to sit their end of the year examinations.Palusalue Faapo II has told reporters that in previous years, students who had failed to clear all their fees, had been allowed to sit the examinations but not allowed to graduate. He says some parents tried to make the payment last weekend but were told they were too late.Palusalue says the management of the university seems to have given priority to the deadline and money and not the welfare of the students.
