Chamber of Commerce to set gubernatorial forum

Chamber of Commerce chairman David Robinson says he has been coordinating meetings with gubernatorial teams for this year’s election, asking them— in individual meetings— to focus on thinking of what each team can do for the private sector and what the team would do to improve the economy if elected into office.

“I asked them to think of new investment...new international opportunities” for the territory, Robinson told a meeting of the Chamber on Wednesday. He said at least, for now, the gubernatorial teams are thinking about economic development for American Samoa.

He said the Chamber will sponsor at the end of September a town hall meeting with the gubernatorial teams, who will be given prepared questions with a time limit to present their responses. The date for the town hall gathering will be announced soon.
