Woman’s death over weekend under investigation

The Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into the death of a 58-year old woman from the Tualauta District over the weekend.

The woman was found dead in her home on Sunday. Police and the EMS technicians were called for assistance. The woman was pronounced dead at the LBJ hospital Sunday afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner Leiseau Laumoli said detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are questioning the woman’s children.

Speaking to Samoa News, the Deputy Commissioner said it’s too early to make any statement regarding the woman’s death, however more details will be available once the investigation is complete. He said the detectives are looking into this matter to determine whether foul play was involved.

Witnesses told Samoa News that when  EMS arrived at the scene, the woman was laying on the couch in her home.
