Samoana High School held the closing for their ‘Heritage Extravaganza Gala’ this past Friday, which showcased displays, skits and information on different heritages from countries around the world.

“The American Samoa Humanities Council (ASHC) is the sponsor for our Heritage Extravaganza Gala. We started off with an opening this past November and this is the closing for the event,” said the Department Head for the Social Studies department at SHS, Brenda Aisoli.

“The Humanities Council gave us the funds to work on the student’s history project, but we wanted our school to have a project where everybody could get involved and this is the first time that we have had this Heritage project. Hopefully, next year we will get funding for this program, to keep it going,” she said.
