Empty ER

Yesterday, Samoa News visited LBJ hospital, after reports came in that it was like a ghost town — since the fee hikes went into effect on Monday morning. The ER (pictured) is said to have treated only 13 patients Wednesday night, with 11 paying the $50 fee, while two were accepted under ‘emergency’ needs. The hospital has said, it will not turn away an emergency patient, if they are unable to pay. [photo: TA]
