New Slide Show: Flag Day Performing Arts Fest

The 41st Annual Flag Day Performing Arts Festival two-day event began with youngster’s showing their dance moves and joyous smiles, yesterday afternoon. The festival is presented by the Arts Council and the Department of Youth & Women’s Affairs, and is partly sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. The afternoon program began with an intro of the groups by Master of Ceremonies, Tapumanaia Galu Satele, Jr.

 

The evening program began with “Strings of Psalm” sung by the Calvary Temp AOG, Lepuapua and was introduced by Master of Ceremonies, Fagafaga Danny Langkilde. Welcoming remarks were given by Paogofie A. Fiaigoa, Arts Council Board Chairman, invocation by Rev. Faamafu Borne, Poloa Methodist Church,

 

Opening remarks by Jonathan Fanene, director of DYWA, and Special Remarks were presented by Acting Governor Lemanu P. Mauga. Nine groups performed on Monday, with 10 more performing last night — the final day of the event.
