New CEO named for StarKist company
The U.S. based StarKist company, owner of the StarKist Samoa cannery in Pago Pago, has a new president and CEO.
Starkist, a subsidiary of South Korea based Dongwon Industries, says Sam Hwi Lee was last week named the company’s new boss. Lee, a StarKist Board of Director since 2008, became the interim President of StarKist last November following the resignation of In-Soo Cho.
In a media release, Mr. JaeChul Kim, chairman of Dongwon Industries says Lee has shown great passion and expertise during the interim period, and the board has high expectations for him and the StarKist team.
Lee says StarKist is one of the most recognized brands in America. He says he looks forward toworking closely with the company’s dedicated team of associates in the United States, as well as in other parts of the world including American Samoa and Ecuador.
