Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a Feb. 5th memo, Acting Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga reconstituted the Alcohol Beverage Control Board by naming new members to the ASG Commission responsible for regulating and issuing licenses to businesses established to serve or sell beer and alcoholic beverages.

Local law calls for a 7-member board appointed by the governor. The law also outlines specific powers and duties of the Board. In his memo, Lemanu appointed for two-year terms board members Francine Gaisoa, Dion Te’o, Faavaefou Misiaita and Liai Tauanuu while Onosa’i Va’a, Donna Gurr and Henry Hunkin are appointed for one-year terms.

According to Lemanu, the Commerce Department staff is to provide support to the Board while DOC's Saeu Porotesano is Board administrator.
