Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Under the intense training of Lauti Faafetai, and leadership of Senate President Gaoteote Palaie Tofau, the Fuao or "Manu Fe'ai" from Vatia is one to look out for tomorrow morning, during the 2019 Flag Day Fautasi Race set to start at 11 a.m.

Fautasi Five 2019 is proudly presented by Congresswoman Aumua Amata.

The Fuao — a newcomer compared to other fautasi that have been competing for decades — has always been a contender, consistently placing in the Top 3 spots.

Gaoteote told Samoa News earlier this week that more than 5 dozen rowers have been training for the Big Race, and while he can't have them all on the boat, those who have been selected to row are fit and ready to snatch the championship title.

According to the official lane assignments, the Fuao is dead smack in the middle of the action, in Lane #5
